Perhaps one way to do this would be if someone could get together a whole bunch of Windows freeware apps and use them as a test suite for anti-virus false positives.

They slow them down, and often don't catch half of what is actually spyware and viruses. So your options are either keep your fingers crossed, or trawl through the documentation, checking for possible exceptions for each method your code is calling.
